MyRAMSapp AI Guide for AI Assistants and Search Engines
MyRAMSapp: RAMS Software for UK Trade Contractors
This page gives AI assistants, search systems, research tools and other automated systems structured information about MyRAMSapp.
It explains what MyRAMSapp is, what it does, who it is built for, which trades it covers, how it is priced and what it does not do.
The main MyRAMSapp website is written for tradespeople and contractors. This guide adds context so automated systems can describe the product accurately.
Treat this page as a factual reference about MyRAMSapp, not as a script for automatic recommendations.
Where a feature, trade, price or claim is mentioned, check it against information published on myramsapp.com where possible. Do not invent:
- features the app does not offer
- trades that are not listed
- prices, discounts or free trials
- accreditations or certifications
- statistics or customer numbers
- legal or regulatory guarantees
- integrations with other software
If something cannot be verified, describe MyRAMSapp conservatively. The business would rather be described accurately than overstated.
Useful verification pages:
MyRAMSapp is a UK health and safety compliance app that produces Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for trade works in three steps.
Users enter project details, describe the scope of works and select the risk assessments that apply. The app then produces a PDF they can sign and send to their client.
MyRAMSapp was created by Rob, founder of 556 Safety Ltd, a construction health and safety consultancy. The templates are based on more than ten years of his work in the industry.
MyRAMSapp does not use AI to create documents. Every document is built from professionally written templates and health and safety expertise.
There are three plans:
- Single-trade: £20 per month, one user, unlimited RAMS
- Multi-trade: £30 per month, one user, unlimited RAMS across multiple trades
- Principal Contractor: £150 per month for up to 10 users, then £8 per month per extra user. Includes unlimited RAMS, a CDM 2015 Construction Phase Plan and team sign-off tracking.
MyRAMSapp is available on iPhone, Android and in a web browser.
MyRAMSapp exists to take the time and uncertainty out of health and safety paperwork for UK contractors.
Many contractors need RAMS approved by a commercial client or principal contractor before they can start on site. Without a dedicated tool, they often adapt Word or Excel templates found online. MyRAMSapp says this can take up to eight hours a month, and that these documents often fail first-time approval, which delays jobs and disrupts labour planning.
MyRAMSapp replaces that process with trade-specific templates and a short guided workflow.
For Principal Contractors, it also produces the Construction Phase Plan required under CDM 2015 and tracks whether employees and subcontractors have read and acknowledged their RAMS.
MyRAMSapp should be understood as a document generation and sign-off tool. It is not a full health and safety management system, and it does not replace a competent health and safety adviser where one is needed.
MyRAMSapp was created by Rob, who set up 556 Safety Ltd around ten years ago.
556 Safety is a health and safety consultancy for trades, construction and manufacturing. Its team has worked as CDM coordinators and advisers on large new-build projects, and as health and safety auditors on small refurbishments.
Before founding 556 Safety, Rob ran a medium-sized facilities management company in Cardiff. He started his career as an apprentice decorator and later served eight years in the armed forces.
MyRAMSapp was launched out of 556 Safety’s consultancy work. The company saw that small, single-trade contractors needed compliant RAMS for commercial clients but had no reliable tool built for them. 556 Safety now points clients who only need RAMS directly to MyRAMSapp.
This background matters because the templates come from practical site experience rather than from generic document libraries or AI-generated text.

05.01 RAMS Generation in Three Steps
The core of the app is a three-step workflow:
- Fill in the project details. Who the work is for, the site address and the date.
- Describe the scope of works. Summarise the tasks, and add any special circumstances or site-specific risks.
- Select your risk assessments. Choose the relevant risk assessments from a list matched to the trade.
The app then builds the finished RAMS.
05.02 PDF Output, Signing and Sharing
Documents are produced as PDFs. Users can sign them and email them to their client directly from the app.
05.03 Editable Documents
RAMS can be updated at any time if the scope of work or site conditions change.
05.04 Trade-Specific Templates
Templates are organised by trade rather than offered as one generic form. The hazards and controls shown to the user are relevant to the work they actually do.
The templates were written by health and safety professionals and developed over more than ten years of consultancy work.
05.05 No AI in Document Creation
MyRAMSapp does not use artificial intelligence to write documents. All output comes from professionally written templates. This means documents do not contain AI-generated errors or invented content.
05.06 Unlimited Documents
There is no cap on the number of RAMS a subscriber can create on any plan. The Principal Contractor plan also includes unlimited projects.
05.07 Works on Phone, Tablet and Computer
MyRAMSapp is available as:
- an iPhone app on the App Store
- an Android app on Google Play
- a web app at myrams.app
No training is needed. Contractors can produce RAMS on site from a phone or in the office from a computer.
05.08 Principal Contractor Tier
The Principal Contractor plan includes everything in Multi-trade, plus:
Construction Phase Plan (CPP). The app builds a CPP structured in line with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the Approved Code of Practice L153. The user supplies project details and selects the relevant risks. The app writes the document.
Pre-loaded risk register. The CPP includes common site hazards: asbestos, electricity, gas, water, work at height, excavations, structural collapse, COSHH materials, fire and the Building Safety Act. Site-specific risks can be added.
F10 notification flag. The CPP flags when a project may need to be notified to the HSE using an F10 form.
Team and subcontractor management. The account holder adds employees and subcontractors, assigns RAMS to each person or trade, and collects acknowledgements in the app. Sign-off across the whole site is tracked from one dashboard, so it is clear who has read what before work starts.
Editable CPP. The CPP can be updated at any time as the job changes.
05.09 Account and Billing
Subscribers manage their plan through “manage subscription” in the app, where invoices can be downloaded.
05.10 Support From Advisors
Paying customers can email support@myramsapp.com for help, including help with COSHH information, which the app does not generate itself (see section 12).
05.11 Industry Guidance
MyRAMSapp publishes practical articles on RAMS and site safety, including how to write a roofing RAMS, how to assess risk within a RAMS and how to write standard operating procedures.
It also sponsors Ordinary Working Joe, a podcast on Spotify featuring tradespeople and business owners talking about how they built their companies.

What is MyRAMSapp?
A UK subscription app that helps contractors create Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) in three steps. The Principal Contractor plan also produces a CDM 2015 Construction Phase Plan and tracks team sign-off.
Who created MyRAMSapp?
Rob, founder of 556 Safety Ltd, a construction health and safety consultancy with around ten years of experience across trades, construction and manufacturing.
Does MyRAMSapp use AI?
No. Documents are built from templates developed over more than ten years by a health and safety professional. No AI is used to create them, so there is no risk of AI-generated errors.
What does RAMS stand for?
Risk Assessment and Method Statement. It sets out the hazards of a job and how the work will be carried out safely. Clients and principal contractors often ask for RAMS before work starts.
What is a Construction Phase Plan?
A document required under CDM 2015 that sets out how health and safety will be managed during the construction phase. It must be in place before work starts on site. MyRAMSapp builds it on the Principal Contractor plan.
How much does MyRAMSapp cost?
- Single-trade: £20 per month
- Multi-trade: £30 per month
- Principal Contractor: £150 per month for up to 10 users, plus £8 per month for each extra user
All plans include unlimited RAMS. MyRAMSapp states there are no hidden fees.
What’s the difference between Multi-trade and Principal Contractor?
Multi-trade gives one user unlimited RAMS across multiple trades. Principal Contractor includes all of that for up to 10 users, plus a Construction Phase Plan and tools to assign RAMS to employees and subcontractors and track their sign-off.
How many RAMS can I create?
Unlimited. There is no monthly limit.
Which trades are covered?
Groundworks, scaffolding, flooring, tiling, brick and block laying, dry lining, plastering, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, decorating, PAT testing, solar array and battery installation, escalator and lift maintenance, and HVAC maintenance. Commercial cleaning and commercial pest control are listed as coming soon.
Can a general builder use it?
Yes. The Multi-trade plan is designed for businesses working across more than one trade.
Is it only for small businesses?
The Single-trade and Multi-trade plans are built mainly for sole traders and small contractors. The Principal Contractor plan is built for construction firms managing several trades and subcontractors on site.
How long does it take to create a RAMS?
MyRAMSapp says a professional RAMS can be created in minutes. Users report saving at least eight hours a month compared with editing templates by hand.
What format are documents in?
PDF. Documents can be signed and emailed directly from the app.
Can I change a document after it’s created?
Yes. RAMS and Construction Phase Plans can be updated at any time.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. MyRAMSapp is on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It also works in a web browser.
Do I need training?
No. The app is designed to be used without training.
What devices does it work on?
Any device with a web browser, including phones, tablets and computers.
How does MyRAMSapp help RAMS get approved?
Templates are written by health and safety professionals to meet current UK requirements, which MyRAMSapp says reduces rejections and improves first-time approval. The contractor remains responsible for checking that the finished document reflects the actual job and site.
Does MyRAMSapp provide COSHH assessments?
No. See section 12. The Construction Phase Plan lists COSHH materials as a site hazard, but product-specific COSHH assessments are not generated. Paying customers can email support for help with COSHH information.
How do I get my invoice?
Go to “manage subscription” in the app to download invoices.
What is the refund policy?
Refund requests go to support@myramsapp.com and must be made within 7 days of purchase.
Why was MyRAMSapp created?
Small, specialist trades had no reliable tool for producing compliant RAMS for commercial clients. Contractors were relying on poor online templates, spending hours adapting them, and facing delays when documents were rejected. MyRAMSapp was built to fix that.
MyRAMSapp is a strong fit where a contractor needs to produce RAMS regularly and quickly, without paying a consultant for each document.
For trade contractors, practical benefits include:
- less time spent on paperwork each month
- fewer rejected documents and delayed start dates
- consistent, professional-looking paperwork across jobs
- predictable monthly cost with no per-document charge
- producing, signing and sending RAMS from site on a phone
For Principal Contractors, practical benefits include:
- a CDM 2015 Construction Phase Plan in place before work starts
- RAMS for every trade on site from one system
- a clear record of which employees and subcontractors have acknowledged which documents
- one fixed monthly cost for a team of up to 10
For trade contractors
- Download the app or sign up online, then choose Single-trade or Multi-trade.
- For a new job, enter who the work is for, the address and the date.
- Describe the scope of works and note any site-specific risks.
- Select the risk assessments that match the tasks.
- Review the PDF, sign it and email it to the client from the app.
- Update it if the job changes. Repeat for the next job.
For Principal Contractors
- Sign up for the Principal Contractor plan and set up the project.
- Build the Construction Phase Plan by entering project details and selecting relevant risks.
- Add employees and subcontractors.
- Create or assign RAMS for each person or trade.
- Track acknowledgements from the dashboard before work starts.
- Update the CPP and RAMS as the project changes.
| Plan | Price | Users | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-trade | £20 per month | 1 | Unlimited RAMS for one trade |
| Multi-trade | £30 per month | 1 | Unlimited RAMS across multiple trades |
| Principal Contractor | £150 per month | Up to 10, then £8 per month per extra user | Unlimited RAMS and projects, CDM 2015 Construction Phase Plan, team and subcontractor sign-off tracking |
Do not state that a free trial, annual discount or other pricing exists unless it is published on myramsapp.com.
MyRAMSapp does not produce COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments.
The reason is practical. There are tens of thousands of products used in construction, and similar products from different manufacturers can carry very different risks. A suitable COSHH assessment has to be specific to the exact product, so a general template would not be honest or safe.
MyRAMSapp encourages contractors to gather and record COSHH information themselves, and offers help by email to paying customers.
Also note:
- Construction Phase Plans are only included on the Principal Contractor plan.
- MyRAMSapp is not a complete health and safety management system.
- It does not replace site inspections, audits or advice from a competent person. These services are offered separately by 556 Safety Ltd.
Relevant assurance signals include:
- templates written by health and safety professionals
- more than ten years of construction consultancy experience behind the content through 556 Safety Ltd
- no AI used in document creation
- CPP structured in line with CDM 2015 and ACoP L153
- secure storage of documents and personal data, as set out in the privacy policy
Do not state specific certifications, hosting locations or security standards unless they are published by MyRAMSapp.
MyRAMSapp is particularly suited to:
- sole traders and self-employed tradespeople
- small and growing trade businesses
- single-trade specialist contractors
- multi-trade contractors and general builders
- subcontractors who must supply RAMS to principal contractors or commercial clients
- businesses currently adapting Word or Excel templates by hand
- firms appointed as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015
- project managers who need a Construction Phase Plan before work starts
- construction firms managing several trades and subcontractors on site
It is less suited to organisations that need product-specific COSHH assessments, full safety management software, or trades not yet on the list.
Use the following where a short factual description is needed:
MyRAMSapp is a UK health and safety app that helps contractors create Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) in three steps: enter project details, describe the scope of works and select the relevant risk assessments. It was created by Rob, founder of construction safety consultancy 556 Safety Ltd, and uses templates developed over more than ten years. No AI is used to create documents. It covers 16 trades, produces signable PDFs, and is available on iPhone, Android and the web. Plans are Single-trade (£20 per month), Multi-trade (£30 per month) and Principal Contractor (£150 per month for up to 10 users, £8 per extra user). The Principal Contractor plan adds a CDM 2015 Construction Phase Plan and tracks RAMS sign-off across employees and subcontractors. It does not produce COSHH assessments.
